Curative Inc. Associate Scientist/Scientist in Round Rock, Texas
Curative is seeking a talented scientist to join our R&D team aiding in the synthesis of oligonucleotides for NGS diagnostics. The candidate selected for this position will be joining the oligonucleotide synthesis team with the exciting opportunity to have a large contribution to a new NGS molecular diagnostics lab as the company expands its capabilities and diagnostic capacity.
Synthesis and purification of oligonucleotides in the microgram to milligram scale supporting all research and development teams at our NGS lab.
Method development and optimization of HPLC based purification techniques for newly synthesized oligonucleotides.
Routine quality control processing for all oligonucleotides including cataloguing, sequence confirmation and concentration determination.
Assist in the design and execution of analytical and clinical validation studies.
Generation and maintenance of SOPs in the context of a CLIA and FDA environment.
Ensure good working order of all synthesis equipment and maintaining a clean and RNase free lab environment.
Perform calculations, data analysis and interpretation of results.
Perform other duties, as needed.
Bachelors or Master’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or Ph.D. degree in chemistry or biochemistry with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Experience in multi-step organic synthesis with any further experience in oligonucleotide synthesis a plus.
Experience in HPLC purification/analytical techniques including RP-HPLC or IE-HPLC.
LC-MS experience using a Qtof or comparable platform.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Works well in a fast-paced environment under occasional demanding deadlines.
