Kuehne+Nagel Business Controller - Sea Logistics in Rotterdam, Netherlands

Are you our Business Controller who is capable of acting as a Business Partner, both at a tactical level and in the ‘day-to-day’ operation for Sea logistics?

Kuehne+Nagel consists of four divisions: Contract Logistics, Road Logistics, Air Logistics, and Sea Logistics. This vacancy is within Sea Logistics in Rotterdam. You function as a financial business partner for the Sea Logistics organization. This means that you regularly consult with the unit managers and the Sea Logistics MT to discuss how the Business Unit is doing and what the expectations are. The business controller team in which you will be working consists of various business controllers, who are working throughout the country. In this role, it is expected of you that you will be present at different locations on a regular basis, so willingness to travel is important. The business unit Sea logistics itself has Rotterdam as its base. The challenge is not only in carrying out the analyses, concepts, and solutions, but it is also important that you know how to convey these well to the internal stakeholders. You act as a business partner for the Sea logistics management.

Je verantwoordelijkheden

  • You act as a full-fledged Business Partner towards the Business Unit Sea logistics.

  • You make P&L and KPI reports and analyses for the Business Unit. You discuss these with, among others, unit managers and the Sea logistics MT.

  • You ensure that the monthly figures and forecasts are delivered on time.

  • You prepare investment requests and draw up progress reports.

  • You actively follow up on the quality and timeliness of invoicing and trade expenses processing.

  • You actively think about process improvements and how these can be implemented in the right way.

Jouw skills en ervaringen

  • You have completed a University degree (WO), preferably in Accounting / Controlling.

  • You have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.

  • You have an affinity with Financial controlling & accounting.

  • You are proactive, advisory, customer-oriented, and able to work with tight deadlines.

  • You are communicative and socially skilled and able to think solution-oriented.

  • You are fluent in both spoken and written Dutch and English.

  • Excel holds no secrets for you. Knowledge of Tableau is a plus.

  • You are preferably available full-time (40 hours) and willing to travel between different locations.
