About the Global Digital Electric Vehicle Commerce (DEV IT) organization at General Motors: This new organization is leading the way with ideating, incubating, and delivering new technology for General Motors electric vehicles. Our team includes best-in-industry engineers, product owners, and designers who have an ambition to move at lightning speed, deliver world-class software, and deliver high-quality, innovative software that delights our customers About the Software Engineering Test Manager Role: The Software Engineering Test Manager defines, implements and leads quality assurance processes (functional and performance testing), testing environment buildout, testing methodologies and the training and selection of industry standardized tools where applicable. Contributes to the development of high-quality systems and products by ensuring adoption of standards, best practices, processes and procedures at every phase of the software development lifecycle; requirements to release. Periodically audits requirements to provide feedback on completeness, testability and other risk areas that could impact product quality. Works with the Program Management Office and operations to ensure quality of processes and procedures. Educates team members across the organization regarding the quality function and their role in ensuring quality standards are met. Build positive relationships with business and technology stakeholders and champion continuous improvement initiatives across business portfolios. Produce quality metrics, testing results and other reports for all levels of management. Builds a diverse and effective team by identifying/selecting the best talent. Responsible for directing and prioritizing work, leading performance and providing mentorship / coaching to team members.
