Raytheon Technologies Junior Penetration Tester in Rosslyn, Virginia

Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RIS) – Cybersecurity, Training & Services (CTS) is seeking a Jr. Cyber Penetration Tester to fulfill a U.S. Federal Agency’s mission to ensure security measures and safeguards are in place to thwart threat attacks and prevent unauthorized access.

Work Location: National Capital Region (Rosslyn, VA)

Job Description:

Conducts application and network vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Perform vulnerability analysis of applications, operating systems or networks. Identifies intrusion or incident path and method. Develop and use malware, pivoting, escalating privileges to test the organization’s security effectiveness

Responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, communicate, coordinate and perform penetration tests and security assessments at application, system and enterprise levels.

  • Simulate tactics, techniques, and procedures used by advanced cyber threat actors

  • Assist with reconnaissance, threat modeling, vulnerability identification, authorized exploitation, and post-exploitation cleanup

  • Develops automation/scripts for replicating vulnerability validation and penetration tests.

  • Documents targets, test plan, scenarios tested, findings, test evidence and recommendations in penetration test report.

  • Perform information technology security research to remain current on emerging technology trends and develop exploits for disclosed and undisclosed vulnerabilities

  • Develop SOPs and architect penetration testing and security assessment methodologies.

  • Performs off-hours work as necessary.

  • Occasionally travel within CONUS and OCONUS

    Required Skills:

  • Experience in penetration testing enterprise networks using standard penetration tools (Metasploit, Nmap, Nessus, Burp Suite, Cobalt Strike ,etc.)

  • Experience with utilizing penetration testing methodologies

  • Experience with applications, databases, operating systems and network devices

  • Understanding of threat attacks, exploitation and data exfiltration

  • Perform information technology security research to remain current on emerging technology trends and develop exploits for disclosed and undisclosed vulnerabilities

  • Experience with SIEM technologies (such as NetWitness, Splunk)

  • Experience with packet analysis to include: HTTP Headers & Status codes, SMTP Traffic & Status codes, FTP Traffic & Status Codes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and physical locations

    Required Certifications: Possess one or more of the following certification s:

  • CEH, PenTest+, CPT, GPEN

    Desired Certifications: Possess one or more of the following certifications:

  • CEH, PenTest+, CPT, GPEN

  • LPT Master, CEPT, CMWAPT, CRTOP, GXPN

  • OSCP/E

    Required Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field. Candidates must also have at least 1+ years’ experience or equivalent education and experience. Clearance required: Active TS clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance 178801
