The purpose of this position is to investigate, analyze, and evaluate crash data for use in making planning, programming, design, and maintenance decisions. This position is responsible for collecting, studying, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data and drawing conclusions and making recommendations. Activities include: safety analysis, speed studies, layout review, project scoping, and permit and plat review
The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.
This position is located at Waters Edge in Roseville. The incumbent will have the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule. The incumbent will be required to report onsite at least once/month but may be required to work onsite more depending on business needs. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of professional (05L or higher) experience demonstrating:
Experience collecting, researching, and analyzing data
Plan preparation, plat/permit reviews, data collection, field inspections, or similar
Candidates must also have:
- Experience developing reports, spreadsheets, and other documents;
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, data analytics, or a related field substitutes for one year of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of permit and/or plat review;
• Experience reading blueprints, construction plans or related design plans sufficient to verify plan accuracy and completion;
• Experience using traffic modeling software including Synchro/Sim Traffic and Highway Capacity Software
• Experience working for MnDOT
