Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
The person in this position will be responsible for unloading semis, staging products, and handling products after they have been cut to length. They will eventually learn plasma cutting and cut-to-length machine operations once they are comfortable. The company supplies sheet metal products to customers, cutting metal to length, shipping it, or cutting and re-rolling it for shipment. The individuals in this role will support operators with material handling and learn to operate various equipment such as the cut-to-length line and plasma cutters to process customer orders.
Responsibilities
Unload semis and stage products.
Handle products after they have been cut to length.
Support operators with material handling.
Learn to operate the cut-to-length line and plasma cutters.
Process customer orders using various equipment.
Essential Skills
1 year of manufacturing experience.
Willingness to learn.
Experience with picking, packing, general production, warehouse operations, material handling, and overhead crane operation.
Skills in loading, unloading, order picking, and general labor.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Crane experience is a significant advantage.

Work Environment
The work environment is an industrial, very large warehouse built big enough to build warships. It is old school with doors constantly opening and closing, making it hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Despite these conditions, the company's benefits far outweigh the temperature issues. The position includes 1st shift from 6am to 2:30pm and 2nd shift from 2:20pm to 12am Monday through Thursday. Employees receive two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute unpaid lunch. Off-shift employees will train on the 1st shift for up to one month. The first day includes safety training and paperwork. Steel toe boots with meta-tarsal covers are required (detachable meta-tarsal covers are not permitted).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roseville, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.87 - $27.05
