This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time OFFICE ENGINEER - TRANSIT/RAIL for our Antioch, CA office. The following locations will also be considered: SF Bay Area depending upon client's needs. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Act as Interim Resident Engineer in absence of Resident Engineer

  • Review/Approval of technical engineering submittals for compliance with plans / specifications

  • Perform Engineering calculations

  • Review Engineering calculations

  • Perform Constructability review of plans/specifications

  • Prepare / estimate contract change orders for the plans / specifications

  • Respond to contractors requests for clarifications of the plans / specifications

  • Periodic review of field work to verify compliance with plans / specifications

  • Prepare marked up as-built drawings for contract compliance

  • Provide limited office management of a construction Management project

  • Review and update schedules and record drawings

  • Take meeting minutes

  • Process contractor pay estimates

  • Review certified payroll

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a directly-related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of Office Engineering experience, including projects involving systems, facilities and track work on transit and/or rail systems.

  • Valid California Driver's license

  • Experience with Office Engineering duties on large construction projects

  • Experience with Labor Compliance and verification of Certified Payrolls

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening

This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.

Compensation and Benefits:

WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.

Expected Salary: $78,300 - $157,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
