Sunworks United, Inc. Inside Sales Associate (Solar)- Remote in Roseville, California

*This position is currently working remote in the Sacramento area due to COVID-procedures in place

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Residential Solar Sales Associate is an inside sales position and is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with current and potential clients. This person will reach out to potential customers to obtain information regarding their solar needs, provide accurate and in-depth information about our products, prepare quotes, act as a liaison between the customer and residential team, and provide post-sales support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

§ Reach out to potential customers within a day of being provided lead information

§ Quantify and vet current leads; Generate potential new leads

§ Meet with customers in-house, by phone or virtually to provide them with information about our products and the benefits of installing a solar system

§ Gather information to accurately assess the customer’s solar needs

§ Select solar energy products and systems to best suit the customer’s needs

§ Prepare customized solar installation proposals in conjunction with Design team

§ Provide customers post-sales service and follow up, including making courtesy calls

§ Complete and maintain all sales order paperwork

§ May also be required to visit customer sites and consult on larger installations

** May be required to work outside of normal business hours (after 5 pm) to make calls to potential customers on occasion

Required:

  • Previous work experience in sales, preferably within the solar industry

  • Must have knowledge of, or be able to quickly learn of the benefits of solar

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Professional appearance and a friendly disposition

  • Ability to relate technical information in layman’s terms

  • Ability to travel and work irregular hours as needed

  • Basic knowledge of sales and Office software

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with office staff and crews so that work proceeds easily and is well coordinated

  • Demonstrates highly-ethical behavior and good judgment at all times, including the ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality

  • Effective listening, verbal, and written communications skills

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Effective time / project management skills Flexible with the ability to successfully manage ever-changing priorities as necessary

  • Willingly takes on additional assignments as requested

  • Demonstrated ability to professionally respond to stressful situations in a patient, friendly, and timely manner

  • PC Proficient with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including: Word, Excel, and Outlook, database creation and report generation

  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States

  • Ability to successfully pass a background investigation and drug screen

  • Valid California Driver’s License and proof if insurance is required

    Desired:

    § Prior solar sales experience

    Or, any combination of academic education and professional training and development

along with applied work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the

essential functions of the position.
