About the role
The Legal Associate Director is responsible for all legal and compliance matters pertaining to Commercial & Residential Fire EMEA business. The position will report to the General Counsel in the United States, and dotted-line to the regional business lead.
Responsibilities
As a Legal Associate Director, you’ll be responsible for:
All legal and compliance matters for the Commercial & Residential Fire business in the EMEA (Europe and Middle East) region. We seek someone who will thrive in the face of challenges and can provide practical, proactive, and business-oriented legal advice to the business and its functions.
The work will include contract negotiation, dispute management, labor and employment matters, regulatory compliance, international trade compliance, ethics matters, product and employee safety and all other legal matters that arise from time-to-time. The position will also manage outside counsel, periodically report to management and be a member of the senior legal team.
Requirements
Technical Skills : Minimum of 10 years of legal working experience required. Some in-house experience with an international corporation is preferred. This is a generalist legal position, but experience in employment and labor law, product safety and regulatory compliance is preferred.
Relationship Skills : Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team, demonstrating a collegial and productive manner. Can quickly build effective relationships with business clients and others at all levels throughout the organization, providing top-quality legal advice and service on a timely basis. Can be effective in a matrix environment. Energized, not threatened, by working with highly effective, competent colleagues. Experience in working in international environment.
Communication Skills : Bilingual Polish/English preferred. Other European languages a plus. Strong analytical, written and verbal skills. Able to produce clear, understandable guidance and direction geared for all audiences. Communicates effectively with and engages all levels of the organization verbally and in writing.
Results Orientation : Exhibits strong bias for action and results orientation; tackles tough problems with firm deadlines. Self-starter. Works well independently, but knows when to seek input or ask for guidance.
Management of Resources : Allocates time and resources efficiently, focusing on ever-shifting priorities. Able to prioritize conflicting demands from multiple business clients. Able to manage significant responsibility and diverse workload in a rapidly changing environment.
Ethics Mindset : Must not compromise the company’s high ethical standards and have the courage to speak up if others are not adhering to those standards.
