Northeast Ohio Medical University Senior Accountant in Rootstown, Ohio
The Senior Accountant performs analytical review and reconciliation procedures on financial information and transactional data and assists in the preparation of monthly financial reports and annual financial statements. Ensures that the University is compliant with all University policies and procedures. Ensures daily operations are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles. Works with management to ensure financial information is reasonable, accurate and aligned with the University's financial reporting needs. 2) Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data. Prepares and submits journal entries with appropriate support. 3) Prepares and files necessary monthly/quarterly/annual financial and tax reports. 4) Maintains job knowledge by keeping current with university policies and accounting standards and practice. 5) Prepares work papers and analysis and acts as liaison with auditors for annual financial statement audit. 6) Responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of the various ERP modules from a functional perspective. 7) Other duties as assigned Qualifications
- Education/Degrees: Bachelor's degree in accounting required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application.
- Experience: Minimum three to five years of accounting experience. Knowledge of FASB and GASB reporting requirements.
