Outreach Development Corporation Substance Abuse Counselor PT in Roosevelt, New York

Outreach is seeking an experienced and licensed part-time clinician for our outpatient program located at Roosevelt, NY. This is a Substance Abuse Counselor position, responsible for the delivery and implementation of direct clinical services to specialty populations. The Substance Abuse Counselor serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate various formats (i.e., individuals, groups, specialty groups) on time and in a professional, ethical, and caring manner.

  • Manage all aspects of a caseload of 10 to 15 from date of entry to date of discharge with special attention to appropriate levels of care, appropriate clinical interventions, and communication with caseload stakeholders.

  • Conduct intake assessments.

  • Develop treatment plans and treatment plan reviews as needed throughout the duration of treatment.

  • Complete and maintain documentation according to federal and state guidelines.

  • Provide backup coverage in the event of other clinical staff absences.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Who You Are:

  • LMSW/LCSW/LMHC preferred

  • 3-5 year of experience working with clients with substance abuse disorders.

  • Experience working in an OASAS funded facility is a plus

  • Bilingual Spanish a plus

  • Commitment to providing quality services and outcome-driven performance measures.

  • Excellent organizational management skills with the ability to coach staff, manage and develop high-performance clinicians, set and achieve program objectives.

  • Strong networking and public relations skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders, populations, and cultures.

  • An action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to program planning.

  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.

  • The schedule is 15 hours a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 5:30 pm-9 pm, Wednesday 12pm to 3:30

    For this Long Island, NY position, the expected base salary is $28 - $40 / hour.
