The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for performing and coordinating the day-to-day operational activities required to maintain service excellence for established accounts while promoting high satisfaction relationships with Bunzl sales & sales management. This role will help support the sales planning, reporting, and communications. This will include data analysis, sales reporting, market research, competitive analysis, planning, and sales process optimization. The role functions as a liaison between Sales and other departments in the company to address customer needs. This role is responsible for providing superior customer service levels in daily interactions with external and internal customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Produces weekly & monthly budget sales reporting and rolls up each week’s numbers to Sales Management. Assists in ad-hoc customer reporting and reviews

  • Produces margin enhancement reports and identifies areas of opportunity

  • Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and external intelligence essential to the sales organization. Recommends revisions to existing reports or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed

  • Provides demand planning and sourcing relevant details for forecast from sales.

  • Supports development of customer presentations and business reviews

  • Conducts online customer and market research to optimize lead generation & target lists

  • Produces overstock reporting and identification of customer opportunities

  • Develops and maintains customer hierarchy and contact lists

  • Internal system expert on supporting IT platforms.

  • Develops regional promotional flyers and product detail communications. Tracks sales contest and provides regular promotional tracing updates. Create and implement tools for optimizing promotion participation.

  • Provide a variety of general account, clerical and sales support functions including, return authorizations, price file updates, contract updates, quotations, product conversion updates.

  • Coordinates and facilitates sample process with customer, manufacturer, and sales team.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Experience with customer service

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Sales support

  • Must be a go getter; able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Must possess outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group of employees, managers, and outside parties

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; recommends solutions, resolves problems, maintains a positive approach
