This team requests EST hours and we prefer candidates able to work onsite from our Romeo, MI office.
Our ideal candidate will take lead with requesting test engineers and Proving ground test operations to forecast, plan, and support Michigan Proving ground testing requirements while ensuring safety, test accuracy and gaining efficiency. Additionally, they will work together with other team members to manage and enhance various test data collection and Automated test systems while expanding capability to ensure quality test and test reporting. This could include expanding Automated/Robotic durability testing, inventing new supporting test equipment and creating data collection packages. Someone who is curious and driven with an appetite for learning would thrive in this position.
Collaborate with test requesting engineers and proving ground technicians and operations to forecast, plan, and support testing while ensuring safety, test accuracy and gaining efficiency.
Manage and enhance various test data collection and Automated test systems while expanding capability to ensure quality test and test reporting
Document and simplify data collection processes and procedures increasing efficiency and ensuring accuracy of test being conducted
Develop and maintain appropriate operations Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics
Identify necessary hardware and software upgrades. Work with MPG management to understand which are purchased out of the operating budget and which require capital projects.
Create and cascade training framework for technicians and technologist on the operation of the hardware and software
Determine system and process issues through data analysis. Develop Interim Containment Actions (ICAs) and Permanent Containment Actions (PCAs).
Candidates will have:
BS in engineering (required)
Capable of obtaining a Tier II driver rating (required)
Willing to work full time at MPG (Romeo, MI)
Experience with data acquisition systems
Solid organizational skills including proven ability to multi-task
Ability to work independently
Solid oral and written communication skills
Proficient in utilizing MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to cover workload peaks including off shifts and weekends as required
Preferred Qualifications:
MS in engineering
Experience using Intrepid Contol Systems, Vector CANape, CANalyzer, ATI VISION, ETAS INCA or similar tools
Programming Skills (e.g. MATLAB, Python, etc.)
Experience with UDP, TCP, CAN and network routing
Solving problems with electromechanical systems
Familiarity with actuators and control systems
Experience in vehicle testing and or durability

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
