Description

Summary:

Direct and execute maintenance of equipment in all mills/facilities with focus on Safety, planning and scheduling, backlog management, and preventive and corrective activities. Incumbent will exercise leadership over all aspects of the Work Management Process (WMP) and oversee activities of work identification based on work orders entered and prioritizing work in conjunction with operational leadership. In addition, incumbent will oversee work execution through Rolling Mill, Bar Mill, Cast Shop and Facilities maintenance supervisors. As part of main attributes, incumbent will evaluate progress and completion rate of maintenance activities and report progress when requested. Continuous improvement and involvement in root cause analysis is also required for this position. Coach supervisors and employees on continuous performance improvement in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and efficiency, using Leadership Interpersonal Skills Training (LIST) and Behavioral Management Techniques (BMT).

Duties and Responsibilities: Communication and Relationships

  • Follow Roles and Responsibilities at the Superintendent Level as described on the Revere Copper Products Inc. (RCPI) Maintenance Work Management Process.

  • Report regular updates to operational leadership on progress or work executed and planned.

  • Hold regular, daily conversations to foster supervisors and employees engagement on safety, quality and productivity while conducting mill walk-around and observations.

  • Be present and visible to assist team members with troubleshooting machine issues and providing appropriate leadership.

  • Take ownership of workplace issues and challenges regarding your direct reports and communicate with others as needed to address and resolve.

  • Ensure effective shift-to-shift communications for safety, equipment status, staffing and end of shift report out.

  • Uphold the Collective Bargaining Agreement; follow and apply all workplace policies and Human Resource procedures ; consult HR on issues as needed

  • Work with vendors and enter requisitions for priority repairs to equipment as needed.

  • Be versed on computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and Microsoft Office is desirable.

Safety

  • Continuously take leadership actions to create a safe workplace culture by engaging direct reports in local safety meetings, safety action plans and safety report follow-up, data collection (observations, tallies, surveys), injury reports, and corrective action follow-up

Quality

  • Continuously take leadership actions to apply standards of workmanship. Support training and coaching employees to documented work methods and conduct job instruction breakdown (JIB) observations to reinforce work methods and provide feedback to employees.

Equipment Reliability

  • Work in conjunction with Reliability Team to follow methods and procedures associated with equipment data and specifications to ensure improved output and availability.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Maintenance Engineering leadership in heavy manufacturing 5+ years.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory experience in an industrial setting.

  • Project management experience 5-7 years.

  • Analytical and Problem solving capabilities.

  • Relationship and team building experience. Interpersonal skills.

  • Engineering skills.

  • Financial analysis skills.

  • Safety knowledge.

  • Computer skills.

Special Demands: PHYSICAL DEMANDS-

• While performing the duties of this job, will be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.

• May be exposed to wet or humid conditions.

Education / Training:

Minimum:

· Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field.

Preferred:

Bachelor Arts or Science in related field with Behavioral Management Leadership Techniques.

Salary Description

$108,000-$132,000
