Job Description

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an Engineer Electronics / Principal Engineer Electronics , to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Responsibilities:

  • Support production and depot manufacturing debug and repair activities to ensure product deliveries are met.

  • Circuit card assembly test and debug. Isolate the cause of defective card assemblies down to the component level.

  • Verification of failed COTS sub-assemblies.

  • Provide technical support to other team members.

  • Guide other members of the debug team on daily and longer-term activities.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and other groups within the company in support of test and debug activities.

Basic Qualifications Engineer Electronics:

  • BS Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering field and BW with 2+ years of experience in system testing and debugging to the component level, or in Digital/Analog circuit design.

  • MS Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering field and BW with 0+ years of experience in system testing and debugging to the component level, or in Digital/Analog circuit design.

  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuits.

  • Some knowledge of RF signal basics.

  • Must be able to follow and interpret test procedures, detailed drawings, electrical schematics, component datasheets, and diagrams.

  • Previous experience in the use of oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, electronic loads, function waveform generators, frequency counter/timers, and other troubleshooting tools.

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the 'Secret' level.

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Manufacturing work experience

Basic Qualifications Principal Engineer Electronics:

  • BS Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering field and BW with 5+ years of experience in system testing and debugging to the component level, or in Digital/Analog circuit design.

  • MS Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering field and BW with 3+ years of experience in system testing and debugging to the component level, or in Digital/Analog circuit design.

  • PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering field and BW with 0+ years of experience in system testing and debugging to the component level, or in Digital/Analog circuit design.

  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuits.

  • Some knowledge of RF signal basics.

  • Must be able to follow and interpret test procedures, detailed drawings, electrical schematics, component datasheets, and diagrams.

  • Previous experience in the use of oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, electronic loads, function waveform generators, frequency counter/timers, and other troubleshooting tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in C programming. Experience in LabView.

  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuits.

  • Some knowledge of standard Linux commands.

  • Experience in the use of Xilinx FPGA and TI DSP programming, debugging, and emulation tools.

  • Experience in ScanWorks JTAG Boundary Scan Test.

  • Experience with TINA-TI circuit design/simulation tool or equivalent.

  • Experience with Cadence PCB viewer or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in RF signal analysis utilizing vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and signal generators.

  • Experience in Test Station design and Development.

  • Experience presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical personnel.

  • Experience managing smaller projects, providing status on budget and schedule.

  • Prior experience working at Northrop Grumman.

MANUMS

Salary Range: $83,300 - $124,900

Salary Range 2: $102,400 - $153,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
