Job Description Summary

Plan the day-to-day execution and technical support for the introduction of processes for new product development and existing manufacturing Process. Support efforts to consistently improve product and process quality. This role is recognized as a key manufacturing technology specialist within our organization. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review for end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, Lead process development, prototype builds, training, new product development etc.

  • Establish & document manufacturing process through Manufacturing Process Plan.

  • Design necessary fixtures and tooling for manufacturing.

  • Make process instructions/routings for assembly by focusing on standardization of manufacturing processes.

  • Support on equipment layout plan, facility modification, and equipment installation and inspection acceptance.

  • Interface with vendors and other functions in an effective manner to ensure that the technical and EHS perspective is properly conveyed/executed.

  • Establish and improvise the manufacturing processes, identify deviations, and take corrective actions to ensure process compliance.

  • Develop necessary tooling and material handling requirements to ensure productivity and Safety.

  • Suggest / Perform layout changes as required.

  • Work with global teams on identifying risks related to new equipment’s & processes and in-corporate them during procurement process.

  • Define requirements for production capacity, initial acceptance quality, cycle time, manufacturing test equipment, and documentation for your product line.

  • Lead New Product Introductions (NPIs).

  • Develop project plans and execute to meet plan and milestone targets.

  • Ensure all QMS Requirements, for manufacturing, are met during the program.

  • Support Transfer projects between sites and other internal/external sites

  • Work with MFG Operations to simplify production lines, improve productivity.

  • Facilitate operator trainings and work with suppliers to organize for special trainings on equipment.

  • This is a key technical cross functional team member position, with interaction among engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and the supplier base that will drive cross-functional execution to exceed milestone and program targets for NPIs.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Preferably Mechanical Engineering.

  • Ability to identify/track metrics and drive continuous improvement.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate to internal/external customers and suppliers.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

  • Ability to interface with varied levels from Operators to Plant Management.

  • 12 to 14 years of relevant experience in a Manufacturing Engineering in NPI and Production phase.

  • Minimum 6-7 years’ experience heavy assembly and remanufacturing processes

  • Experience in Assembly & remanufacturing processes.

  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
