The Siemens Industry, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing EHS Team Lead for our Spartanburg factory, with 750+ employees that produce high-quality, make-to-order power distribution equipment. Our processes include material handling, metal and bar fabrication, assembly and test. The Manufacturing EHS Team Lead will impact all the production and office areas. The position's focus is on implementing, developing, deploying and measuring EHS programs. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing environment, understanding and following procedures, mapping processes and leveraging through relations the adherence / buy-in of Safety mindset at all levels of the organization.

The Manufacturing EHS Team Lead is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations within the manufacturing facility. This role involves conducting risk assessments, implementing safety protocols, and providing training to employees to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the conduction of regular safety inspections and audits of the manufacturing facility to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Lead the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.

  • Ensure to maintain records of safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions, and Facilitate conversations with different internal audiences.

  • Support the investigation of accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.

  • Identify opportunities for new or improvement of current EHS training sessions for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing safety training

  • Empower teams from all areas in regards of proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate the EHS Team in emergency response planning and drills, while engaging with site Management.

  • Promote the collaboration with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate the maintaining and updating EHS documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS), permits, and compliance reports.

  • Ensure that the EHS Team members stay current with EHS regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience leading teams formal or informal

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

  • Regular interaction with employees at all levels of the organization.
