L3Harris General Ledger Accountant in Rockwall, Texas


L3Harris is seeking a General Ledger Accountant in the L3Harris Integrated Mission Systems Segment Accounting Services Center. With centralized processing in Rockwall, Texas, this organization supports multiple business units across the United States by providing accounting, reporting and accounting systems services. Focused customer service and partnership with the business units are core cultural characteristics of the organization. The General Ledger Accountant will participate with the team in recording and reconciling accounting transactions for these businesses.

Essential Functions:

  • Works under moderate supervision and sets objectives for own job area to complete projects and assignments

  • Prepares routine journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations

  • Researches issues and proposes corrective actions or transactions

  • Communicates with division contacts on processes, issue resolution, and problem solving

  • Coordinates month end closing activities and submissions with division personnel to ensure reporting deadlines are met

  • Reviews transactions to ensure appropriate accounting treatment

  • Supports internal and external audit requests

  • Generates reports from the ERP system


  • Bachelor’s Degree or master’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 2 years of accounting experience

  • CPA certification or in process of obtaining certification preferred

  • Knowledge / Exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements

  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge in Excel

  • Experience in ERP software a plus

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
