Job Description

This Systems program supports our federal customer who plays a key role in providing direct cybersecurity engineering support. This program provides systems and security engineering and integration support to specific Government-sponsored projects, pilots and prototypes. This includes solution planning and engineering, defining security requirements, target architecture, interoperability and integration, system testing, Verification and Validation, Modeling and Simulation, studies and analysis, post-deployment security validation (PDSV), and project risk management. As part of this team, you will contribute to the engineering of current and emerging cybersecurity systems, policies, and processes to enforce standards and identify vulnerabilities and capability gaps and reduce cybersecurity risk of our customer networks.

The Senior Data Analyst will report directly to the Data Management Lead. The Senior Data Analyst brings technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of that data is understood, then process, design, and present it in ways to help people, businesses, and organizations make better decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

· Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports

· Analyze current and future data asset constructs and contents to be able to educate others

· Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality

· Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for data quality measurements, implement and document data quality compliance

· Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems

· Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

· Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems

· Work with management to prioritize business and information needs

· Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Other Duties:

Participate in the data management team assessment, review, and refinement of data and metadata standards in alignment with customer data and data technology standards that include attribute-based access control. Collaborate with team members to develop data plans and proposed solutions that will interface and enhance current Government-sponsored programs architectures. Participate in data design reviews and data integration in support of project transition into production. Contribute to operational plans including data technology, data storage management, and architectural criteria that promote continual data assessment and audit capabilities for security and quality control. Create documentation and contribute to architectural and migration efforts for data in a Cloud environment, specifically AWS GovCloud. Support engineering and development efforts working in a SAFe Systems Engineering LifeCycle (SELC) environment.

Required Skills and Education

Must have experience in the following areas:

· More than five years of experience analyzing data quality and designing and implementing data improvement strategies.

· Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst

· Experience with data modeling and schema design

· Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

· Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Tableau, PBI, Kibana)

· Strong knowledge of and experience with databases (AWS S3, AWS Redshift, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, Elastic, etc.)

· Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, R, Python, etc.)

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

· Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

· In-depth understanding of database structure principles.

· Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements.

· Expertise in SQL, NoSQL, or Cypher query language solutions.

· Familiarity with data visualization and modeling tools.

· Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques.

· Familiarity with DODAF artifacts, specifically OV-1, SV-1, SV-4, DIV-1, DIV-2, DIV-3

· Must have an active Secret Clearance and be eligible for TS/SCI

· Must be able to obtain DHS EOD.

Preferred Skills and Education

· Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics and 5+ years of data analyst experience.

· Proven work experience as a Data Analyst or similar role in the Federal Government

· In-depth understanding of database documentation, data integration and data migration (on-premises to Cloud)

· Expertise in AWS GovCloud data tools, specifically, S3, Redshift, Zeppelin, Kibana, Elastic, PostgreSQL

· Expertise in verbal and written skills to lead discussions and documentation efforts

· Experience with Business Intelligence tools, and specifically with Tableau

· Experience with ERWIN Data Modeler

· Familiarity with NoMagic CAMEO Systems Modeler

· Active TS/SCI clearance

Location: Remote but must be in the Sterling, Va/Rockville, MD/Washington, D.C. Metro Area for occasional onsite.
