Customer Value Partners, Inc ServiceNow Developer in Rockville, Maryland
CVP seeks a ServiceNow Developer to join our growing team to support mission-critical applications for our customer. You will work as part of an integrated project team on a 5-year contract to provide professional information technology (IT) services to a leading United States government biomedical research institute in support of critical and complex IT services that support the institute's scientific, business, and administrative requirements, assisting them in achieving their research and public health mission.
As a ServiceNow Developer, you will be responsible for development, core configuration, maintenance, and technical expertise of a strategic enterprise ServiceNow implementation, including PPM, ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, CSM, and other modules as required. You will own the development tasks of the solution based on integration of ServiceNow with other existing company platforms (e.g., JIRA, Tableau). You will align with the enterprise architects, product owners, and business partners for technical designs and technical implementation to ensure use cases are met in the most effective manner for the underlying ServiceNow platform. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to client needs, and to support the implementation of the ServiceNow roadmap, communicating effectively in obtaining and synthesizing requirements from external stakeholders, recommending improvements, and working with the team to build upon the existing ServiceNow foundation. The ideal candidate will understand best practice configuration principles within ServiceNow and have an adept understanding of the delicate balance between configuration / customization and the risks posed to the platform.
Provide expert configuration of ServiceNow through agile development lifecycle.
Support requirements discussions with internal and external stakeholders and third-party contributors.
Design technical solutions and implementations of strategic technologies and other modules.
Develop and modify workflows, scripts, flows, forms, lists, and business rules on the ServiceNow platform to automate tasks and integrations.
Provide software configuration and customization including, but not limited to: screen tailoring, workflow administration, dashboard configuration, data imports, integration, custom scripting and third-party software integrations.
Develop and manage integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems (REST, SOAP, orchestration, and other relevant methodologies).
Perform integrations and process automation using ServiceNow Integration Hub.
Drive initiatives to identify, optimize and automate manual IT business processes to deliver secure, scalable and reliable IT infrastructure.
Recommend continual service improvement through establishment of best practices, reusable assets and refinement of the implementation processes.
Perform system and integration testing with sample and live data. Monitor health, usage and overall compliance of the application.
Document technical solutions and provide training in knowledge gaps.
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of ServiceNow hands on experience.
Desired experience working in a biomedical research or public health environment
ServiceNow development and implementation experience in PPM, ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, CSM modules.
ServiceNow Certification (Application Developer, Administrator, and/or Implementation Specialist) in at least one module (ITSM, ITOM, CSM, ITBM, HR).
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, ITIL concepts (ITIL v3 Foundations Certification).
Familiar with Service Oriented architecture and web services integration (SOAP, WSDL, REST, JSON, XML and Web Services).
Experience with Service Portal, Request Catalog and Automations across the ServiceNow platform.
Software development experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, Python, JavaScript, JS Libraries and Framework.
Demonstrates a high degree of customer service and team work. Works well with clients and other vendors in achieving mission success and is committed to providing quality products and services.
Strong Communication Skills: be able to expresses key ideas and obtain tangible feedback from cross-functional team members and stakeholders. Must possess strong creative, communication, and collaboration skills.
Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: identifies risks and problems, and be able to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations.
Experience in requirements gathering & analysis, solution design, development task management, quality assurance and release methodologies.
Strong professional and interpersonal skills including creative problem solving, effective written and verbal communications, planned and organized coordination of cross functional teams, acute attention to detail and quality, and driven with the ability to self-manage.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute.
Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary.
Ability to multi-task across project/initiatives and deliver according to time commitments.
