ABOUT THE ROLE

Holcim US, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Loader Operator to support operations at the Aggregrate Quarry in Rockville, MD.This position is primarily resposible for the safe and proper handling, loading, and storage and proper care of aggregate materials and plant equipment as assigned by the Plant Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Operates a variety of heavy and light equipment and machines to create finished products.

  • May feed materials into machines, and transfer material from one location to another.

  • Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel/moves joysticks to operate loader.

  • Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into finished product.

  • Conducts pre and post-trip inspections, identifying malfunctions and items in need of repair.

  • Perform light maintenance.

  • Assists in keeping the work area clean and organized.

  • Attends and participates in safety toolbox talks, and other employee meetings/events.

  • Reports near misses or other safety incidents or accidents promptly, and in accordance with proper procedures.

  • Adheres to all environmental and safety regulations.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience operating a sales loader, haul truck, bobcat, dozer and forklift

  • Experience in light maintenance to include electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems

  • Required Work Experience: 2 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

  • Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail

  • The ideal candidate is motivated, experienced, and carries out work safely

  • Required Computer and Software Skills:Basic computer skills

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions without limitations.

  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

  • Reliable transportation

  • Licenses Required: N/A

  • Strong safety orientation

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
