Health First System Director - Supply Chain Management Logistics and Operations Management in Rockledge, Florida

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and overseeing the activities and personnel of the receiving, inventory, logistics, and distribution functions across Health First to include receipt, storage, disposal, transportation of hospital owned equipment, furniture, and transportation and distribution of equipment, furniture, and supplies. Define and communicate a clear, compelling vision for the department that effectively ties into the mission and vision of Health First and inspirationally leads the team to achieve that vision. Maintain a cost effective and efficient materials process (physically, procedurally, and technologically) utilizing LEAN principles to ensure that necessary supplies are available when needed for all acute care delivery & materials, Operating Room materials, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology and procedure suites and Nursing areas across the system in support of meeting patient outcomes/experience, operational and fiscal objectives as they relate to Supply Chain Strategy & Optimization and workforce planning & optimization. Through collaboration and direct accountability with onsite logistics and materials management staff, develop a system-wide approach for end-to-end supply chain integration that lowers the total cost of distribution and inventory management functions while improving customer service and support to all Health First caregivers. Responsible for effective annual system-side inventories.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES 1. Engage regularly with key leaders and physician stakeholders about scope of responsibility to understand strategic plan, goals, metrics, and outcomes, to influence and gain commitment to compliance, improve operational efficiency, cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction. 2. Communicate expectations and vision for top tier performance, with goals, metrics and provide ongoing feedback. Demonstrate and promote strategic thinking and drive problem-solving by empowering and supporting team members to be responsible and accountable within their scope of practice, including positive work interactions within Supply Chain, between departments and customers. 3. Review and modify all hospital and Health First Medical Group distribution department strategic plans and procedures to reduce supply costs. Develop and implement initiatives appropriate for the current business environment. a. Develop inventory models to optimize supply chain performance in delivery of medical surgical products and other supplies to ensure alignment with clinical care. b. Develop logistic pathways to ensure operational, cost effective, and timely deliveries to all entities of the healthcare system. c. Develop, establish, and modify related policies and procedures essential for operational efficiency, reducing friction, and improving SCM, Logistics and Distribution results.

Promote and support staff participation in applying continuous improvement to existing processes to enhance the utilization of people and materials, based on expanded use of metrics through analytics and information technology. Hold operational team members accountable for maintaining appropriate manpower & schedules, quality improvement measures within their areas of responsibility. 5. Lead respective teams, modeling an engaged work climate, and inspiring individuals and teams to demonstrate high standard professionalism, while achieving outstanding performance. Foster staff growth and development through various available or approved resources. 6. As an internal consultant, focused on evaluating and documenting the flow of material through the health system. Identify gaps in sourcing, logistics, distribution, and inventory management. Recommend process improvement opportunities to improve quality, operation efficiency, cost effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. a. Serve as a subject-matter-expert and knowledgeable leader, influencing and educating others when disseminating best practices based on reliable internal and external sources, systems, and data from across the IDN. b. Create opportunities to demonstrate strategic leadership and supply chain expertise when influencing and guiding other teams and departments to support and comply with current procedures and practices and/or new programs and initiatives. 7. Accountable for guaranteeing all implantable and critical care devices and products are compliant with inventory tracking regulations and best practices, and managed and delivered appropriately and timely across the health system. a. Ensure all patient care areas maintain adequate supplies to meet safe and effective patient care safety, needs, and outcomes. b. Ensure logistic and materials management activities are integrated with quality outcomes to deploy continuous improvement and patient safety throughout. 8. Act as Emergency Management Representative on matters related to supply chain operations, including but not limited to, planning, sourcing, and stocking of supplies to accommodate clinical practices, supply location reconfiguration, system tracking of supply chain consumption via the inventory management system, and/or transportation of equipment and supplies throughout the IDN. 9. Ensure all equipment, and product receiving and disposition functions across Health First are in place, used and support best accounting practices, including FDA Product Recall actions, for product removal /return across the Health First. 10. Establish performance metrics for all supply intensive departments, across the IDN, to measure productivity, improving logistics and materials management performance and outcomes through increased unit-based inventory turns, elimination of duplicate inventories, reducing unofficial inventories, and decreasing inventory write-offs, while improving customer satisfaction. 11. Leverage materials management technology solutions to achieve optimal efficiencies. Ensure alignment to other systems, such as materials inventory management, surgical information, patient charge system, point-of-use technology, and e-commerce. 12. Quantify total costs for materials distribution functions across respective entities and develop sustainable targets for cost reduction through reduction of redundant processes and improved supply chain efficiencies. 13. Lead Supply Chain Operations in the surveillance of customer service satisfaction through face-toface interactions and complaint management to improve logistics and materials management deficiencies in customer service and experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field Work Experience: Five (5) years leadership and proven management expertise in program planning and development, project management and performance improvement. Extensive knowledge in supply chain logistics, inventory management, LEAN or other process improvement techniques, distribution facilities and medical mall support models.
