Health First Financial Internal Control Analyst HFHP - Finance Administration in Rockledge, Florida

POSITION SUMMARY

To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship by planning, conducting, and supervising projects; provides superior quality and outstanding service and is primarily concerned with internal controls over financial reporting of Health First Health Plans and effective management and support of external audit relationships. This position will be required to communicate with senior management in an effort to define risks, develop solutions and implement corrective action plans. This position leads complex audits and acts in an advisory capacity.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Provide support for annual financial statement audit, service organization audits and external regulatory exams
  2. Perform Model Audit Rule (MAR) audit.
  3. Assist with complex projects such as Own Risk Self-Assessment (ORSA) and Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure (CGAD).
  4. Assess the effectiveness of financial internal controls and IT General Controls (ITGC).
  5. Assist with maintenance of financial policies and procedures.
  6. Assess and recommend action to be taken when control, operational weaknesses, and/or compliance issues are found.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Licensure: None
  • Certification: None
  • Work Experience: Two years of experience in accounting, finance or internal/external audit.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: o Solid understanding and ability to apply risk and internal control concepts. o Demonstrated ability to problem solve and think both creatively and analytically. o Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio. o Possess knowledge of GAAP. o General knowledge and understanding of financial systems. o Possess strong oral and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Master’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Certification: Professional accounting or audit certification such as CPA, CIA or CISA.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: o General knowledge of Commercial, Individual Marketplace and Medicare Advantage insurance. o General knowledge of IT General Controls (ITGC). o General knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles. o Prior cost accounting and activity based costing experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping.
  • Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
  • Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
  • May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
  • Workspace may vary from open to confined; on site or remote.
  • May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
