Reporting RelationshipsReports to: A VP of Liberals Arts & Adult EducationSupervision Exercised: None.Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Associate VP, performs professional level duties related to the college-wide curriculum programs (including degrees and certificates) by coordinating the curriculum approval process. Advises faculty and departments on curriculum requirements; researches, evaluates and synthesizes program proposals. Functions as the technical expert on the curriculum process. In collaboration with other academic affairs leadership, ensures educational standards, rules and regulations are followed.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Related duties may be assigned.Consults, mentors and serves as a resource person to faculty, staff, management and external representatives on curriculum requirements. Works collaboratively with faculty, staff and management to advise and ensure compliance with the rules and policies of the Rock Valley College Board of Trustees, the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).Maintains the College's administrative software system for curriculum.Reviews curriculum format (degrees, certificates and courses); in association with Institutional Research, Assessment Committee, E-Learning Committee, and Curriculum Committee, consults and facilitates course development, program review, the College catalogs, Academic Calendars, supports curriculum software users, and supports college-wide assessment efforts.Facilitates, supports and attends various meetings regarding curriculum development and articulation. Primary support for the degree and certificate process. Coordinates the degree and certificate approval process both internally and for the State. Keeps the College informed on curriculum changes.Serves as a liaison to internal departments including serving on work groups and taskforces, attending appropriate professional development trainings and providing internal training to staff, when appropriate; receiving electronic information to be communicated to others within the College, and determining eligibility for credit and non-credit programs.Oversees the repository of credit and select CEU curriculum materials; maintains related files.Assists with special projects and identifies training needs involving program development, administration and articulation.Regular attendance is expected.Using tact and courtesy, the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work.Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Education or a closely related field required. Two years of teaching or curriculum development preferred. Strong computer and communication skills required and ability to learn the college's administrative software system.
