DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Description

The Operations Manager has overall responsibility for the daily operations of the associated pipeline assets located in western Wyoming and northern Colorado including all operational activities, performance management of staff, safety, quality control, budgeting, compliance and regulatory matters. Primary responsibilities include operation and maintenance responsibility for natural gas pipeline, storage, processing and compression facilities. In addition, the Manager will interact with both internal and external customers. Direct reports include two (2) Operations Supervisors, one (1) Damage Prevention Supervisor, and an Administrative Specialist.

 

*This position will be located at Cheyenne Compressor Station in Carr, CO.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversees the operation and maintenance of Area facilities to ensure their safe, reliable, and efficient operation.

  • Ensures the implementation and enforcement of all applicable company guidelines, policies and procedures.

  • Oversees pipeline and station operations to achieve goals within budgeted funds and available personnel.

  • Reviews progress, directs changes in priorities and schedules as needed to assure work is completed in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Sets the objectives for the preparation of the operating and capital budgets for area of responsibility and reviews the status of the monthly forecasting during the fiscal year.

  • Coordinates safety and emergency response, and new hire orientation training and programs.

  • Participates in the selection/promotion of staff, salary change considerations, and disciplinary matters and conducts performance evaluations.

  • Develops short and long-term plans, goals and objectives for operations and staff

  • Coordinates with other departments, governmental agencies, and customers.

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations affecting operations.

  • Ensures current security measures protect company assets while preserving the safety of the general public, customers, and company personnel.

  • Coordinates/participates in the design and construction of new facilities and replacement or repair of existing facilities with various team leaders.

  • Identify and correct safety and environmental concerns.

  • Oversees Area activities to ensure compliance with PHMSA, OSHA and Environmental regulations.

  • Manages projects with assigned area of responsibility.

  • Other duties as assigned.

     

Working Conditions:

  • Extended periods of sitting may be required for planning and administrative activities.

  • May be required to climb steps and ladders to access and inspect facilities and work. Walking, bending, and stooping may be required on a routine basis.

  • From time to time, work areas which will be inspected include indoor areas which can become very hot as well as out outdoor remote areas where ground conditions vary and may be heavily vegetated.

  • Must carry a cell phone and be able and willing to respond at any hour of the day or night to all after hours and/or weekend and holiday issues, including emergency situations. This includes being in possession of required equipment and tools, designated forms, policies, regulations, and manuals.

  • Must be willing and able to travel, as required.

     

Other Responsibilities:

•The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. This position may perform other duties as assigned.

 

Pay range is $135,500 - $203,300 per year. This position includes a discretionary annual incentive plan. Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill sets.
