This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for STEM Positions and Cyber Security and related positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This temporary position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, Rock Island Arsenal, IL. Responsibilities Coordinate extensive projects in assigned area of responsibility. Perform major studies and analyses in support of business processes (i.e., operations research, economic, statistical, management, and risk analyses). Obtain information concerning studies to perform sound analyses. Organize teams engaged in studies of complex issues and problems. Develop, modify or apply methodologies for alternative solutions for producing results to support decision making. BASIC REQUIREMENT FOR OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST: A bachelor's degree (or higher) in Operations Research; or have successfully completed at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring 'substantial competence' in college-level mathematics or statistics. NOTE: At least 3 of the 24 semester hours MUST have been in calculus. You MUST provide a copy of your transcripts with your application package. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: assisting with investigative studies involving the development or application of methodologies and applying methodologies on alternative solutions to evaluate data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. This position is obligated.
