Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Manufacturing Supervisor in Rock Island, Illinois

About the Position: This position is located at the Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC). Responsibilities Where work progress indicates the needs for major changes in procedure or sequence, consults with supervisor to obtain approval Make minor adjustments in procedures and sequence of operations as necessary to accomplish work effectively and economically. Advise and counsel workers on how to improve their performance and explain new work techniques. Identify employee training needs and initiates recommendations to provide necessary training. Plan and schedule work assignments on a daily or project-to-project bases within the instructions and time limits provided. Inspect completed work for quality and work order requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six(6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees)applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Manufacturing Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I can perform the work of a Manufacturing Supervisor, such as: planning work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinate employees; determining skills, personnel, materials and equipment required to complete assignments; establishing deadlines based on organization timelines/regulations; counseling employees on performance and problems to determine corrective action. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
