Description We are seeking a self-starter with a demonstrated history of identifying issues and problem solving for this exciting Assistant Controller role. As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee the day to day of the accounting staff and send reports to the Controller. What you get to do every day

• Assist to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, development, and regular assessment

• Backfill for Controller where appropriate

• Support the accounting team during the closing process to confirm deadlines are met

• Enhanced preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

• Recognize and grow process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

• Devise relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like key financial metrics, the monthly flash report, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

• Secure regular account reconciliation to completion

• Draw up numerous procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses

• Give to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including forecasting and budgeting

• Stimulate accountability and the meeting of deliverables

• Consider and form Ad Hoc financial reports

• Other duties when requested

• Encourage implementation and certify adherence to accounting policies and procedures Requirements - Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

• CPA an added bonus

• Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment

  • Profound knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

• Understanding GAAP and firm accounting policies and procedure

• 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience

  • Prior accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

• Statutory reporting experience

• Month end closings experience preferred
