Trillium Health NY Staff Physician - Infectious Disease in Rochester, New York

Purpose: The Staff Physician, Infectious Diseases, provides patients with infectious disease services in a licensed diagnostic and treatment center. Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and the Medical Director of Infectious Diseases, the Staff Physician functions as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient.

Detail of Key Job Responsibility Areas

  1. Patient Care
  • Provide Infectious Disease Consultation to adult patients on-site in clinic with an interdisciplinary approach.

  • Rotating weekly phone-based call system to include urgent patient communications, ED visits, hospital admissions, panic lab values, etc.

  1. Teaching/Training
  • Precept students, residents, and other medical staff during elective rotations at Trillium Health

  • Required to obtain 100 or more CME credits every two years to remain eligible for medical staff credentialing and commercial insurance credentialing.

  1. Administrative Responsibilities
  • Complete all clinical documentation within 3 business days of medical treatment.

  • Complete assigned Ongoing Peer Reviews on a quarterly basis.

  • Complete Focused Peer Reviews as assigned.

  • Duties as required (quality assurance, etc.)

Qualifications

Preferred, M.D. or D.O. Degree and Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine, with a Fellowship in Infectious Disease. Or HIV specialist physicians as credentialed by the American Academy of HIV Medicine.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Occasionally, the employee must stoop, bend, lift, or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
