Status:Full-Time Non-Exempt
Reports To:The CEO, Director of Facilities, IT, and Procurement
Summary:
The Receptionist is responsible for answering inbound calls in a professional manner. Greets all staff and visitors with exceptional customer service. The receptionist is responsible for maintaining and organizing the reception area.
Responsibilities:
Answer and direct inbound calls to appropriate individuals or departments in a polite and professional manner.
Assist in the coordination and communication of Urban League events via email.
Welcome and register all visitors, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate party.
Assist with bulk mailings, including newsletters.
Receive, date stamp, and distribute incoming mail.
Manage and log incoming and outgoing packages.
Provide assistance to customers with necessary paperwork.
Maintain and organize the reception area to ensure a welcoming environment.
Distribute incoming mail to administrative staff daily.
Process outgoing mail daily.
Perform data entry tasks as assigned.
Support other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Attend and support Urban League of Rochester events and fundraising functions.
Requirements
High School diploma or GED preferred.
At least one year of experience in telephone communication and keyboarding.
General office experience required; previous experience as a receptionist is desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to work well with others and maintain a positive attitude.
Capability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.

Work Environment:
Casual business attire is required.
The role may require occasional evening or weekend work to support events.
