L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Receiving Inspector to join our team. This position will be based at our Rochester NY, Jefferson Rd. facility.

Position Overview:

This person will contribute to the company’s success by inspecting incoming purchased parts, materials & equipment used in the manufacture of L3Harris products. They will be responsible for maintaining quality standards and recording quality results. This role will report directly to Defense Quality Manager and is responsible for successfully interpreting manufacturing drawings diagrams, specifications, and other documentation to approve or reject incoming materials using standard physical, mechanical and / or electrical measurements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order

  • Maintain reject tracking database

  • Utilizes measurement instruments

  • Regularly enters inspection data into computer system

  • Follows established processes to complete tasks

  • Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations and resolves most issues

    Basic Qualifications:

    Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior inspection experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior inspection experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to use measurement equipment and tools (Calipers, Ohm Meters, Magnification Aids, etc.)

  • Ability to read and interpret Mechanical and Electrical drawings and specifications

  • Computer Proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge of IPC-600, IPC-620 standards, is a plus

  • Mechanical aptitude desired
