Panasonic North America Software Quality Manager in Rochester, New York

Overview

We are looking for a tenacious, intrinsically motivated individual to join our team as Quality Manager. You will be a working manager, leading and a small software QA team and working to provide regression testing, automated testing, agile story testing, and system testing for a solutions group providing enterprise material flow solutions for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a tenacious, intrinsically motivated individual to join our team as Quality Manager. You will be a working manager, leading and a small software QA team and working to provide regression testing, automated testing, agile story testing, and system testing for a solutions group providing enterprise material flow solutions for manufacturing.

Strategy

  • Set a vision for the team that is in alignment with organizational goals and objectives. The optimal vision will include a focus on future growth and scalability.

  • Within this vision, determine optimal execution plan to deliver robust solutions for end customers within the bounds of available resources and time

Management

  • Manage and mentor a team of direct reports to achieve software testing objectives

  • Interface with Japan as necessary to ensure compliance with established corporate policies and procedures

  • Set goals, scope, and deliverables, and manage budgets and resources, to achieve business objectives.

  • Qualify the software product functionality delivered by the engineering teams to ensure they meet the spirit and intent of the stories written by the Product Owner and addresses customer use cases

  • Execute various types of testing such as regression and writing automated tests as QA workload changes depending on development cycle and current needs

  • Create and maintain test cases and execution plan for the Panasonic IIOT software platform for each software release

Project Support

  • Estimate the testing level of efforts for new projects and client requests

Scope

  • The position reports directly to the Group Manager of the IIoT department of PIDSA.

  • The employee is expected to lead a team of direct reports.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in technology development, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.

  • Proven track record in establishing and managing development teams and facilities .

  • Experience writing test automation

  • Advanced knowledge of testing enterprise software solutions that integrate with hardware devices such as RFID.

  • Strong, frequent written and verbal communication to peer and management audiences

  • Detail oriented, demanding completeness and adherence to highest standards with excellent time and project management skill

Other Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

  • This is an in person position, located in Rochester, NY.

The salary or hourly wage range of $120,000 – $140,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. *The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
