POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Technician’s primary responsibility is to ensure that quality product is manufactured according to established standards and that customer requirements are met. This includes conducting audits of production parts and processes, supporting in the resolution of customer complaints, assisting in the implementation of corrective actions and systemic process improvements, evaluating data trends, and making recommendations to the Quality Management System

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Conducts process audits in various manufacturing departments to ensure that operators are producing parts to specifications and following established procedures. Documents observations and presents findings and action items to the management team. Follows-up on action item completion and ensures sustainment

  • Compiles information from in-process checklists and test data to calculate first pass yield and communicate results to management team.

  • Creates and documents standard work process and visual aids

  • Perform various tests under the direction of the Quality Manager and Quality Engineer (i.e. – dry film thickness, sound level testing, etc.)

  • Assist Quality Engineer in managing equipment calibrations

  • Work with Inspection and Manufacturing on quality issues

  • Serves on interdepartmental teams to represent quality interests

  • Identify and implement improvements to the established Quality Management System

  • Assist the Quality Manager in preparing the facility for various audits.

  • Support and participate in process improvement activities

  • Assist with EHS activities, as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience using quality tools in manufacturing including

  • GD&T, FMEA, Inspection and Test Plan/Control Plans, First Article

  • Experience with ISO 9001 certification and auditing internal processes

  • Understand how to read and interpret drawings

  • Understanding of Metrology Equipment like Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gages, Profilometer, CMM, and Thread Gauges is preferred

  • Physical Demands

  • Approximately 50% of the time will be spent on the manufacturing floor

  • Lifting requirements are generally less than 25 lbs. Lifting could occasionally reach the company maximum of 40 lbs.

EXPERIENCE :

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills

  • Technical skills with the ability to read drawings including understanding of GD&T and strong understanding of manufacturing processes

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills

  • Collaboration with cross functional teams

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Word or equivalent

  • Experience in MRP Systems (JDE preferred)

PHYSCIAL ENVIRONMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Approximately 60% of the time will be spent on the manufacturing floor

  • Lifting requirements are generally less than 25 lbs. Lifting could occasionally reach the company maximum of 40 lbs.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $40,200.00 - $60,400.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
