Description

Under the leadership support of the Director of Children Youth and Family Services, the PRC Program Supervisor is the liaison between LDSS, Family Court and others in the guardianship and adoption systems across this multi-county effort. Serving Monroe, Wayne, Steuben and Schuyler counties. This position receives all referrals for the PRC and assigns appropriate staff to provide the services. This position also coordinates all PRC outreach and community engagement efforts. The position supports Trauma Informed Practices and ensures all staff have met training requirements.Supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff and is responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison for PRC services to appropriate sources including DSS, Family Court and others in the judicial and child welfare systems and accepts initial referrals to the program.

  • Promotes the program to community groups.

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the PRC program.

  • Provides regular on-going supervision and support to PRC caseworkers, in person and/or by telephone as needed.

  • Develops curriculum for monthly and quarterly training for community partners on issues related to serving children and their families.

  • In cooperation with agency leadership, identifies, strengthens, and manages strategic partnerships with the courts, social service departments and key community partners across a four-county region.

  • Provides outreach in the community to address client and community needs, plus current and upcoming trends, to increase general community knowledge and awareness of child welfare issues.

  • Maintains up to date information regarding participation, successes, recidivism and ensures the accuracy, upkeep, and maintenance of all PRC program files and records including court orders.

  • Maintains programmatic database and statistical information, and completes reporting as necessary for the agency and funders.

  • Ensures client eligibility and completion of all intakes.

  • Oversees appropriate referrals to community resources with the four-county service region.

  • Reviews individual cases, assesses family situation and needs and provide client action plans, in collaboration with staff, as needed.

  • Conducts client case reviews to audit and ensures staff efficiencies.

  • Conducts PRC team meetings.

  • Provides direct service as necessary.

  • Participates in staff meetings and other agency-related meetings/events.

  • Participate in agency’s strategic planning efforts.

  • Completes required agency and program reports in a timely manner.

  • Participates in relevant Agency meetings and/or training.

  • Actively pursues development of professional competencies related to job role performance through reading, supervision, in-service training and attendance at conferences and workshops.

  • Awareness and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan. Including, but not limited to, supporting the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and Diverse.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Master of Social Work (MSW) or MA degree in related Human Services field required.

Credentials: LMSW preferred.

Experience: - At least 3 years of human services experience, and at least 2 years of supervisory experience.

  • At least 1 year of experience working with child welfare system, family court, adoption, guardianship, and related trends.

  • Ability to read and interpret government regulations related to effective service of the population served.

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred .

  • Continuous use of a reliable, registered and insured vehicle.

  • Willingness to travel within the four-county service region.

  • Some late afternoons and early evening hours may be required.
