Responsibilities

Exciting opportunity for a team focused professional with a passion for influencing and advancing pediatric oncology outcomes. Join the Clinical Trials Office as part of the Wilmot Cancer Center in partnership with Golisano Children’s Hospital as a Clinical Research Nurse (CRN). The CRN works closely with pediatric oncology patients and the interdisciplinary team to ensure the integrity and quality of our clinical trials are maintained. This nursing role independently provides nursing care; identifies and communicates the impact of the research on patient care; utilizes critical thinking; and reports issues/variances promptly to the team. The CRN collaborates with the team to administer research interventions; collects patient data according to protocol specifications and regulatory guidelines; evaluates the patient response to therapy; and integrates evidence-based practice into nursing practice to best protect the health and safety of research participants. Our CRN’s are developing and changing the way we manage care for clinical trial oncology patients. The CRN role allows you to apply your nursing, pediatric and oncology expertise without leaving the field of nursing. Excellent communication skills, a detail oriented approach and the ability to work autonomously with multidisciplinary teams are required to be successful in this role. BSN with 1-2 years pediatric oncology experience and/or clinical research experience preferred. Knowledge of computer databases, word processing and spreadsheets required.

Qualifications

Requires a Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State RN license in good standing. Applicants will have a minimum of 6-12 months of RN experience. This position assumes the charge nurse role, actively participates in unit/service activities, supports co-workers, and assesses unit needs.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $35.35 - $45.96

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
