Description

The University of Rochester Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is actively recruiting for an outpatient physiatrist with clinical expertise in the evaluation and management of sports related injuries and large joint (hip, knee, shoulder) arthritis management. There is also an opportunity for the right candidate to perform electrodiagnostic studies, if desired. This position offers the opportunity to work in our brand-new state of the art outpatient musculoskeletal facility where musculoskeletal specialists from the Departments of PM&R and Orthopaedic Surgery work side by side in division specific practice pods. No inpatient call. No holidays. No weekends.

In addition, there is ample opportunity to pursue academic and scholarly interests. This includes support of the education mission consisting of teaching and mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students as well as the support to pursue research interests. This position comes with a primary faculty appointment in the Department of PM&R and at the University of Rochester School of Medicine.

Ideal candidates would be BC/BE with interest and aptitude in the management of large joint arthritis. Fellowship training in sports medicine or musculoskeletal medicine is preferred, but not required. Interest and aptitude in the performance of electrodiagnostic studies is a plus but not required. New graduates from residency and fellowship are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO

  • BC/BE

  • Interest/aptitude in managing large joint arthritis

  • Have completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine OR Musculoskeletal Medicine (preferred, NOT required)

  • Interest/aptitude in performing electrodiagnostic studies (preferred, NOT required)

  • Interested in teaching/mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students
