Job Description:

*Highland Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APP) to join its critical care team Come join our ICU and enjoy a *$10k sign on bonus along w/ a flexible schedule. Ideally looking for someone who can work day shifts primarily (7a - 7p) while also being able to pick up night shifts for vacation coverage.

Full Time, 1.0 FTE

Primarily days (7a-7p) with some night shifts (7p-7a) required to cover vacations – Additional stipend for the night coverage!

Twelve hr shifts plus 8 extra shifts per year to complete the 40

2-3 Holidays per year

2-4 weekend shifts per month as needed

There is flexibility in scheduling and we will work with you to accommodate your needs!

Some duties include but are not limited to:

Medical coverage in the ICU, evaluation & management of intensive care unit patients covered by the critical care team. The ICU PA/NP (provider) reports to the ICU Medical Director for clinical and administrative issues pertaining to the ICU. For broader administrative issues the Chief of Medicine should be consulted. The attending critical care physician on service is available for consultation regarding specific patient related problems. The attending of record should be informed of any significant change in a patient’s clinical status.

Salary Range:

$93,000.00 - $119,642.00 annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements:

1. Education : Graduate of an approved PA or NP program and nationally certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners.

2. Experience: Two to five years in-patient or ICU or critical care PA/NP experience. Demonstrated autonomy and competency managing critically ill patients and excellent problem solving ability. Able to independently perform some invasive procedures. Demonstrated leadership experience in coordinating clinical services for acutely ill patients.

3 . License/Certification Required : ACLS certified. Stroke Certification required within one year of hire.

4 . Skills: Proficiency in central venous and arterial access. Management and resuscitation of unstable patients. Management of respiratory failure including proficiency with standard modes of mechanical ventilation.
