JOB TITLE: Music Therapist BCREPORTS TO: Director of School ProgramHOURS/STATUS:Part time - Exempt, Temporary, 3 Days per week, 2 week break prior to ESYSTART DATE:June 2024 SALARY RANGE:$27.85 - $33.05 HourlyJOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of and in cooperation with the Director of School Program, is responsible for delivering music therapy to students in the school program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •Schedules, structures, and implements appropriate music therapy programming for individuals and groups as assigned and required by the IEP.•Serve as a resource for other teachers regarding music therapy.•Evaluate and assess the skills of students.•Report on the progress of the IEP goals for students.•Completes all required paperwork in a timely manner including CSE paperwork, evaluations, and annual summaries. •Maintains the music equipment and supplies.•Comprehends basic pathologies and needs of the children served by the Agency including psychological and medical characteristics.•Participates in various discipline related meetings, team meetings, and in-service sessions as required.•Participates in initial Safety Care, recertification, and refresher trainings.•Participates in Agency functions as requested.•Provides consultation to parents regarding music therapy when requested.•As schedule allows provide non-music therapy activities to students in structured groups.•Must be sensitive to the cultural diversity of others and facilitate trusting relationships and partnerships with board members, vendors, and co-workers.•Other duties may be assigned.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Candidates for this position will have: the ability to play the piano and other instruments; the ability to demonstrate and provide examples of continuous personal development and improvement; Communication skills (verbal and written); problem solving skills, strong organizational skills, behavior management, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in music therapy and hold current MT-BC or must past MT-BC by start date. 2 years of relevant experience highly preferred.
