Objectives:

The Microbiologist is a key member of the Quality Lab Operations team responsible for monitoring product quality by performing predetermined microbiology tests to support marketed and pre-marketed product formulations in accordance with SOPs and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Performs lab bench microbiological tests and data analysis as per department SOPs using aseptic techniques.

• Performs sterility testing using isolator technology as per department SOPs.

• Performs microbiological tests to support the customer return program.

• Performs harvesting and standardizing of challenge microorganisms using a spectrophotometer.

• Prepares sterile media and solutions required for testing.

• Provides expertise and guidance for microbiology related work.

• Reviews and approves microbiology raw data sheets, study files and supporting data in accordance with SOPs and regulations.

• Guides and documents investigation activities within the group.

• Evaluates, improves, and/or qualifies new and old methods and procedures with limited guidance.

• Authors and reviews technical reports, CFRs, and SOPs.

• Utilizes change management to document method changes in compliance with standards and regulations.

• Maintains a safe and compliant work environment by following standards, procedures, and company regulations.

Requirements:

  • BS degree with a minimum of 3 years monitoring product quality by performing predetermined microbiology tests.

  • Knowledge of quality ISO standards and general laboratory GMPs as well as experience using laboratory techniques such as pipetting, aseptic techniques, and good documentation practices.

  • Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively on teams.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $55,000 and $80,000 annually. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. They may also be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive sick time, floating holidays and paid vacation.
