The Department of History at the University of Rochester invites applications for a one-year lectureship in the field of African American History, with a start date of August 1, 2023. We welcome all approaches to historical study and encourage applications from those versed in interdisciplinary and digital methodologies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach three courses per semester, with course offerings to include both halves of a survey course on African American history, as well as more specialized upper-level courses. Classes begin for Fall 2023 on August 31.

Minimum qualifications include PhD in History or appropriate related field (in hand by August 1st, 2023) and evidence of excellence in scholarship and teaching.

Salary Range: $7,500.00

The referenced pay range represents the full base range of pay for this job. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
