University of Rochester Hospital at Home - Senior Nurse Manager, Inpatient in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

The Senior Nurse Manager for Hospital at Home is a new and exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative program caring for acutely ill patients in their home. The Sr. Nurse Manager will partner with the Unit Medical Director of Hospital at Home unit along with a dynamic and creative team to develop the infrastructure, ensure continuous process improvement, cultivate efficiencies, evaluate technology, and promote quality and safety. The Sr NM will be responsible for working collaboratively with inpatient teams across the hospital, developing partnerships, providing education to staff, patients, and their families, working towards an increase in admissions to the in-home unit from the Emergency Department. The Sr. NM, along with the Unit Medical Director will track metrics for enrollment and address barriers for patient unit admission. The Sr NM will be responsible for working directly with recruitment to develop strategies for marketing and hiring into key positions for launching a successful program. This individual will be required to make ongoing assessments of staffing needs and be able to advocate for appropriate staffing compliments as the unit grows. This position will require strong communication skills, desire to formulate strong professional relationships throughout the medical center to leverage engagement with Hospital at Home. The individual must have management experience, be highly motivated and organized. Master’s degree required.

Qualifications

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Manager directs all aspects of patient care, which includes managing nursing personnel and material resources in a cost-effective manner, unit planning and the initiation of innovative clinical and management practices with emphasis on retention strategies.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $49.96 - $66.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
