Job Description:

*Highland Hospital is seeking an Employee Relations Manager to join our team. This newly created role has been designed to work with our Business Partner team, with a specific focus on employee relation matters.

Some duties include but are not limited to:

Serves as the primary associate to the Human Resources Business Partner(s) in assigned business unit(s). Provides counsel to employees and managers) in the areas of policy, procedures, corrective discipline, and dispute resolution. Devises methods for gathering information, and analyzing, interpreting and reporting data. Formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. Maintains business literacy as it relates to the financial position, culture, business objectives, and goals of designated business unit(s).

Assists employees in the consistent interpretation and application of Human Resources policies, procedures, regulations, and programs by demonstrating and applying thorough knowledge base of each. Counsels employees on work-related concerns.

Advises management on application of corrective disciplinary actions, organization policies, procedures, and regulations and other compliance related issues. Assists with writing written warnings and counsels managers on best practices.

In collaboration with the HR Business Partners, investigates reports of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. This includes creating the internal investigative file; interviewing applicable parties to the investigation; and drafting the investigative report.

Keeps abreast of Hospital policies and procedures, as well as changes in various relevant federal and state laws, and issues and developments in the human resources profession.

Works collaboratively with HR Business Partners and Operational partners to establish and promote positive employee engagement in organizational objectives and goals.

Utilizes employee engagement survey results to analyze and identify areas for improvement and make recommendations aimed at increasing positive employee relations.

Ensures compliance with various HR policies and procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations for all assigned personnel. Provides professional knowledge and counsel based on experience.

Collaborates with organizational leadership and peers for effective Human Resources problem-solving, conducting follow-up calls/visits/meetings to check for positive progress.

Salary Range:

$60,400.00 - $84,611.00 annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations

Job Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field required

  2. Experience: 2-3 years in Human Resources. Previous experience in employee relations orHR Generalist.

  3. License/Certification Required: N/A

  4. Skills: Required: Experience in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills; effective analytical and problem solving skills; superior interpersonal skills. Engaging instruction style; collaborative team work approach; process oriented with significant attention to detail. Experience in a health care setting a plus but not required.
