Adecco is currently seeking A and B shift EDM Machine Operators, in Rochester, NY. The EDM Machine Operators purpose is to set up and operate Sodick Wire EDM machines while ensuring part quality and optimizing production efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Sodick Wire EDM machines.

• Adjust machine tool offsets as needed to maintain part quality.

• Modify M & G code programs as necessary.

• Detect tool wear and make appropriate process or tool adjustments.

• Interpret process sheets and mechanical drawings with a strong understanding of GD&T.

• Operate multiple machines and manage various tasks throughout the day.

• Utilize standard measuring tools such as indicators, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, gage blocks, rules, protractors, and height gauges.

• Input inspection data into a computer software program.

• Perform basic machine maintenance, including fluid and filter changes.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment and machine area.

• Adhere to company policies and documented procedures.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in setting up and operating EDM machines, or 3-5 years of experience with CNC Lathes and Mills, or technical training with a focus on CNC setups and operations.

• Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T.

• Familiarity with Esprit software and cutting parameters.

• Knowledge of both Metric and English measurement systems.

• Ability to use a variety of measuring instruments.

• High School Diploma or Technical Training Certificate required.

• Exposure to industrial oils, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesives, and other chemicals, with all safety precautions in place.

• Some independent decision-making and actions are expected.

• Occasional repetitive motion tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to lift materials and parts up to 70 lbs.

• Intermittent long periods of sitting and standing.

Pay Details: $18.00 to $30.00 per hour
