University of Rochester Dental Treatment Coordinator in Rochester, New York
GENERAL PURPOSE:
With minimum direction and considerable latitude for independent judgement, position is responsible for management and monitoring of dental treatment status and financial compliance for patient base. Individual is responsible for considerable departmental administrative details requiring extensive knowledge and experience in financial policies, procedures, and practices.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors patient accounts to ensure proper coding and billing for all treatments performed in the Urgent Care Clinic. Ensures accuracy of patient schedules. Provides management with daily informational reports.
Acts as a resource to patient’s and care providers on all billing issues. Maintains good working relationships with all care providers, Dental Central Billing and front line staff in order to coordinate referrals and other treatments relevant to the patient’s
overall dental treatment.
Extensive knowledge of insurance guidelines. Initiates service authorization in advance of treatment through review of dental insurance benefits and requirements.
Collection of patient self pay accounts. Reviews payment obligations to ensure payment is made at the time of service. Performs check-in and check-out procedures. Processes payments. Maintains knowledge of New York State & local policies, regulations and procedures related to compliance requirements.
Provides input to clinical supervisor/administrator to improve compliance and other related patient care activities.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma required. Associate's Degree in business field preferred. One year of dental or medical office experience required or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Strong customer service skills (via telephone and in person) and ability to communicate effectively and professionally required. Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and ability to work with a diverse patient and provider population required. Dental experience preferred.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $ 18.50 - $ 24.05 Hourly
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
