Aerotek Cnc Lathe Machinist in Rochester, New York

Aerotek is hiring for a CNC Lathe Machinist!

One of Rochester's lead businesses in precision machining is looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our growing team!

Job Description:

In this position, you'll be responsible for operating and programming CNC lathes to create precision components that adhere to engineering specifications and customer needs.

Role Responsibilities:

  • CNC Lathe Operation: Operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture precision parts according to blueprints, drawings, and detailed specifications.

  • Programming & Setup: Program, configure, and fine-tune CNC lathe equipment to achieve optimal performance and precision.

  • First Piece Inspection: Perform comprehensive first-piece inspections to confirm part quality and ensure compliance with design specifications..

  • Tight Tolerances: Operate efficiently within tight tolerances to achieve high standards of precision.

  • Program Editing: Modify and update programs as needed to accommodate quality and production requirements.

  • Continuous Improvement: Ensure efficient and smooth operation of CNC lathe machines, addressing and resolving any issues that occur.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficient in operating CNC lathe machines, with experience in programming, setup, and adjustments.

  • Solid understanding of blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications to ensure accurate machining.

  • Experienced with MasterCam 24 software for programming CNC machines.

  • Skilled in working with tight tolerances to ensure the highest quality and accuracy in machining.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to make adjustments as needed for quality control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a machinist is highly preferred.

  • Capable of reading and editing CNC programs to ensure optimal machine performance.

Shift:

You’ll be working in a well-lit, organized machine shop environment with a 1st shift schedule. The working hours are:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM to 4:15 PM

  • Friday: 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00
