Job Responsibilities:

The Chair, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration provides critical day-to-day operational support for the department of more than 20 faculty and staff. The successful candidate will provide leadership and management for all of the department’s strategic initiatives and operations.

Responsibilities include overseeing the pharmacy practice and administration curriculum, including experiential education and the simulation center. The individual will serve as a member of the school’s Executive Committee and will report directly to the dean.Provide oversight and support for the department’s didactic and experiential curriculum for both the campus and online pathways, including course development, mentoring of course coordinators, assessment, workload assignments, and other activities related to the curriculum

  • Provide leadership and management for all of the department’s strategic initiatives and operations;

  • Develop clinical, teaching, and service partnerships with health care organizations and providers in the area;

  • Recruit, hire and retain faculty and staff in pharmacy practice and administration according to the needs of the program;

  • Conduct annual reviews and make recommendations for salary and budgetary requests;

  • Represent the Department on the Executive Committee;

  • Engage in teaching and scholarship in areas of expertise and interest.

Education / Experience:

Candidates from any pharmacy practice or pharmacy administration discipline will be considered. Qualified applicants will hold a Doctor of Pharmacy, Ph.D. in Pharmacy Administration, or other terminal degree. Eligibility for licensure in the state of New York is preferred. Candidates should have a record of academic teaching, scholarship, and service which will qualify for the rank of Associate Professor or higher.

Supervision of Employees:

The Chair will oversee 20-25 faculty and staff in the department.
