Position Title:

CAT Interpreter/Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for interpreting and facilitating communication relevant to CAT projects

  • Takes responsibility to serve as coordinator for CAT projects requiring initiative, independence and decision making

  • Interprets for on-site meetings, presentations, conference calls with external collaborators/partners, on-site/off-site presentations

  • Interprets as needed for CAT team (faculty/staff/students)

  • Assist in deployment of CAT products in academic settings

  • Work with faculty & students preparing materials for use in C4 supported classrooms

  • Assist with data analysis and reporting for CAT projects

  • Assists in supervision of student team members (undergraduate and graduate)

  • OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

Required Qualifications:

  • RIT Certification

  • 10 years interpreting in a professional setting (classroom, conference, business meetings)

  • Excellent project coordination, administrative assistance

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Basic IT skills (computer, printer, equipment set-up)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree

  • Experience reviewing/editing project proposals

  • Experience working in an academic environment

Job Summary:

The CAT (Center on Access Technology) Interpreter/Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day communication needs of CAT Team personnel, primarily interpreting for project meetings and activities as well as other communications among team members and outside parties, related to ongoing projects.

The Interpreter/Coordinator will work with the CAT team serving as coordinator for all ongoing projects related to Access Technology, including data analysis and reporting of these projects, and will assist in the supervision of student team members.
