BioTelemetry, Inc. BioTel Research - Medical Writer in Rochester, New York

The Medical Writer is responsible for working closely with both internal and external teams in order to draft, format, and proofread technical and scientific documentation. The documentation (e.g. proposals, imaging charters, final reports, and other scientific/technical documents) is prepared in a collaborative manner with both internal and customer cross-functional teams to meet the rigorous requirements of a regulated industry. The Medical Writer will also be responsible for the preparation of additional documentation (e.g. technical reports, marketing material, work instructions, standard operating procedures) as needed.

  • Independently draft, format, and proofread internal and external documentation (e.g. proposals, Imaging Review Charters, Independent Imaging Manuals, Final Reports) to support the conduct of clinical trials and other regulatory-related activities

  • Work closely with internal and customer teams to arrive at a final approved version of drafted documents, and to ensure that the drafted documents are accurate, effective for the intended audience, and prepared within the agreed-upon timelines

  • Provide review and proofreading support for internal and external documents to ensure consistency and accuracy

  • Support organization goals with participation in training, process improvement workshops, internal audits, and other activities as needed

  • Occasional travel (up to 15%), as needed

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (e.g. life sciences), MS or PhD preferred

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in medical or scientific writing, experience in medical imaging and clinical trials is preferred

Skills:

  • Advanced written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, and ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Word and Excel

  • Conscientiousness as well as high personal and professional integrity

  • Ability to prioritize and complete work independently with minimal supervision and/or direction

  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing deadlines and priorities
