Job Purpose:
Primary function of this role is to be a trusted advisor of benefits and leave administration information, in adherence
with all federal and state laws, while maintaining the highest standard of integrity, confidentiality and ethics while
processing employee transactions.
Essential Functions
Benefits:
• Assist with all benefit enrollments.
• Coordinate Annual United Way Campaign and oversee deductions.
• Administer EPI Perk Programs via existing and new vendors.
• Accountable for monitoring and executing benefits-related status changes.
• Assist with New Hire Orientations as requested.
Leave of Absences (LOA’s):
• Work with established third- party administrators (TPA’s) in the processing of all claims (DBL, PFL, WC).
• Conduct investigations into work-related injuries as needed in accordance with FMLA and other regulatory
agencies.
• Monitor COVID email and hotline.
• Track FMLA and LOA’s.
Reporting:
• Prepare monthly LOA report with active status.
• Manage new hire benefits reports.
• Complete & post OSHA 300-A log; report annually as per regulations.
Customer Service:
• Must deliver top-notch service while always maintaining professional composure.
• Respond timely to employee matters and escalate issues to Benefits Manager, HR Director or EVP as
needed.
Other:
• May serve on established and/or ad hoc employee committees or project teams as time permits.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Benefits Manager and/or designee within scope of practice.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Benefits or related field, with min. 5 years previous experience in an HR
Generalist/Benefits or Leave Administrative role or; AS degree in related field with 7 years of benefit
experience.
• PHR or SPR preferred, but not required.
Computer Knowledge:
• HRIS knowledge and experience a plus!
• Microsoft Suite to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
Qualifications:
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills including both oral and written communication skills.
• Time management and priority setting: strong organizational skills and have an ability to keep track of
multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Must have and maintain a valid New York State Drivers’ License pre and post hire as it is required for
business travel.
• Must complete required training per OPWDD within 90 days of being hired and maintain current
certifications annually thereafter.
• Must be receptive to feedback; willing and interested in continuous improvement and development.
• Demonstrated ability to exhibit professional demeanor in dealing with others (both internal and external
customers and colleagues); maintain constructive working relationships; use poise, tact, and diplomacy,
during difficult and/or stressful situations.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks,
and customer requests, while meeting deadlines.
• Detail oriented.

• May be exposed to changing office temperature, or weather conditions when driving.
pay is between $22/hour-26.50/hour
