University of Rochester Accountant II in Rochester, New York

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Accountant II will support the Financial Analyst and Lead Financial Analyst in preparing and managing the operating budget for Strong Memorial Hospital.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review annual operating budgets for non-clinical departments, working directly with program administrators to finalize. Includes reviewing departmental business improvement plans, budget/FTE modification preparation and budget spread methodologies.

  • Produce and monitor monthly trends summaries, reviewing and summarizing variances for internal team as well as Sr. Leadership. Assists Lead Financial Analyst in developing corrective action plans with department administrators.

  • SMH Finance inbox support – review and approve personnel action forms, including change, faculty and extra compensation forms. Process includes comparing FTE changes to authorized levels on manpower reports for all Hospital departments, following up with program administrators to remedy as necessary.

  • Other tasks as needed, including assisting budget team in Axiom validation for SMH and compiling data for annual surveys.

  • Assist with maintaining assets listings for business assets and other Capital tasks as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience required

  • Highly organized, keen attention to detail, team-oriented, strong reconciliation and analytical skills required

Pay Range

Pay Range: $54,808 - $76,752 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
